MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR EMPLOYMENT:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must possess a state recognized high school diploma or GED certificate
  • Must possess a valid drivers license
  • Must possess a Social Security card
  • Must be willing to be a resident of Livingston Parish

       ***If you are applying for Uniform Patrol, Corrections or Reserve Deputy, you will be required to satisfactorily complete a physical fitness assessment.

Employment with the LPSO is at-will and may be terminated with or without cause and with or without notice at any time by the employee or the agency. No representative of the LPSO, other than the Sheriff, has the authority to change the terms of the at-will relationship and that any such change can only occur in a written employment contract.
